TOMORROW’S ENGINEERS IN THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY

Identification of the need at the level of the cluster members to have employees graduates of higher education, specialized in Furniture Design and Wood Engineering.

Start of an action plan in partnership with the University TRANSILVANIA in Brașov, which reopened the Faculty of Furniture Design and Wood Engineering, the only such faculty in the country.

Payment of 50% of the tuition fee for each employee of a company member of TFC enrolled for the faculty courses.

TFC CONTRIBUTION

Recruitment of employees within production companies members of TFC who are willing to specialize and attend, for 4 years, the reduced frequency courses at the Faculty of Furniture Design and Wood Engineering in Brasov.

The students participate to distance learning courses, which take place monthly, only 4 days a month.

The tuition fee is paid 50% by the Cluster.

ACTIVITIES

Enrolment of a group of students among the employees of companies members of TFC in 2018.

Enrolment of a group of students among the employees of companies members of TFC in 2019.

A new enrolment session was also organized for the academic year 2020-2021.

RESULTS

Development of Wood Engineering competences among the employees of companies members of TFC.

Acquiring knowledge for the development of new products and furniture design.

An increase of the number of employees interested in the professional progress has been notices, inspired by the courses of the Faculty of Furniture Design and Wood Engineering in Brașov.

EFFECTS

Increased number of employees graduates from specialized higher education in the Transylvanian furniture industry.

Better training of the employees of the companies members of TFC by supporting them in the higher education, specialization Wood Industry.

Diversification of the range of products and services offered by the companies members of the cluster, as a result of better professional abilities of the employees.
